Kinesis Velocity Token: eWallet Help
Kinesis has compiled the following information to help Kinesis Velocity Token applicants who have requested assistance with their eWallet.
It is important that you read the information below in its entirety.
The Kinesis Velocity Token (KVT) is an ERC20 Token, meaning it is on the Ethereum network. KVT can only be viewed in an ERC20 Token-compatible eWallet which supports custom Tokens. Once deployed, Kinesis can provide you with the KVT contract address information to enter into your eWallet to view your KVT balance.
Kinesis cannot provide specific advice about which eWallet can, and cannot be used for viewing KVT. This is because there is a multitude of eWallet providers which often change capabilities. KVT is an ERC20 custom Token, and your eWallet must be compatible with this custom Token type to view your KVT holdings.
It is essential that you thoroughly research your eWallets capabilities and update your eWallet address with Kinesis if necessary.
Kinesis has created an eWallet setup guide with a known ERC20 custom token compatible eWallet provider, “Metamask”. You can access this here. If you do decide to use a Metamask eWallet (as shown in the guide), please carefully follow the steps within the guide and be sure to email Kinesis your public key as per the final step. You can find the MetaMask terms of use here.
A short note about “Cryptocurrency Exchange Addresses/eWallets”: DO NOT use your Cryptocurrency Exchange Address/eWallet to apply for KVT. KVT requires an eWallet which is specifically compatible with ERC20 custom Tokens. Cryptocurrency Exchange Addresses/eWallets generally do not support ERC20 custom Tokens.
A short note about “Hardware Wallets”: It is highly likely that any Hardware Wallets will require additional configuration and integration with a compatible online eWallet (compatible with both the Hardware Wallet and compatible with the ERC20 custom Token type). Hardware Wallets generally are not ERC20 custom Token compatible ‘out of the box’. Depending on the Hardware Wallet, the required additional configuration will vary in complexity, and manufacturer support will also vary. Kinesis cannot provide technical support for Hardware Wallet integration or use for KVT. It is essential to conduct thorough research prior to purchasing a Hardware Wallet or attempting to use a Hardware Wallet for KVT.
Please read this short article: https://tokenmarket.net/what-is/ethereum-token-wallets/. Please also note that Kinesis did not author the article supplied and it is being provided to you in good faith and should not be solely relied upon. Whilst by no means complete, the list of “Incompatible wallets” within this article should also be noted.
In summary, your eWallet must be ERC20 custom Token compatible and should not be a Cryptocurrency Exchange Address/eWallet. If you decide to attempt to use a Hardware Wallet for KVT, it will likely require additional configuration and integration with an online ERC20 custom Token compatible eWallet (which is also compatible with said Hardware Wallet).
Next Steps: Kinesis will need your eWallet public address prior to KVT activation. The KVT contract will be activated at a date no later than 11th November 2018. To supply/update your eWallet address with Kinesis, please email your public eWallet address (along with your full name as per your application) to: sales@kinesis.money. Kinesis will be in touch prior to KVT activation.
Warning! Never send anyone, including Kinesis, your eWallet private key/address. Kinesis will only ever require your eWallet public address.
